Not A Conventional Story

What sparked my soul to start photography... Officially

This part of the story is not for the faint of heart.

You know the person who is always taking photos, videos and selfies? Well, that was me, since I could walk and talk.

But I didn't learn the true life-changing impact photography could have until the worst day of our lives happened.

Our daughter passed away when I was 22.5 weeks pregnant, I was blessed to be able to give birth to Lexie Rose. We held her, loved her and sang to her. But those moments live in your memories...

That's when a nurse came and took photos for us.

Those photos are the only ones we will have the rest of our lives. And they are the most important photos we will ever have.

That's when I knew I wanted to offer this to as many people as I could.

That is the power of capturing moments to me.

I stumbled into it.

If you ask my family what my number one gift-giving is they would say photos or scrapbooks. It has been that way since I was about 12 years old.

I wanted to give my cousins something special for their wedding, so I asked if I could take photos. Not as a photographer, I just wanted to take photos at their special day.

And that was that. Once I came home, edited and gave the photos to them, the questions started pouring in.
"Are you a photographer now?"
"Can I book a session?"
"You should do this full-time Kim."

Etc, you get where this is going. It wasn't something I ever planned on, or I had ever even thought of.

But I think that really started it was the love and genuine passion I have for every shot.

Things you should know about me...

Here are some important things you should know about me.

I am quirky, I love to crack a good joke (if the situation fits), I am funny awkward but I LOVE what I do more than anything.

So I and when you book a photography session, these are things you can expect haha! You've been warned!

More random things about me...

love a unique and challenging photo shoot.

ESPECIALLY, if it is outdoors! Hunting, hiking, fishing, horseback, rodeos, etc you name it. Those shoots pull at my soul's heartstrings.

I was born in Quebec, so yes I am French, English is my second language. Then we moved to Florida for a few years, learned English there, and took about a billion photos at Disney World and Universal Studios. Seriously, not even joking.

After that, we moved to my favourite place in the world. The Yukon.

Where we hunted, fished, and trapped, I even had my own dog sled team and raced. All of which I have an abundance of photos of by the way!

I also own a Marketing and Business Development company, called Dynamic PR Solutions.

So needless to say now you know a whole lot of random things about me. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I would love and be honored to capture you special moments and turn them into life-long memories.
